Terms of Service

Effective 26 October 2026Last updated 26 October 2026Applies to the CPE Vault Android app and cpevault.app

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use CPE Vault. They are written to be read, not skimmed, but the short version is: it is your data, you are responsible for your certifications, and we will be straight with you.

The agreement

CPE Vault is provided by [COMPANY LEGAL NAME], [COMPANY ADDRESS] ("we", "us"). By installing or using the CPE Vault app or the website at cpevault.app (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. If you use it on behalf of an employer, you confirm that you are authorised to do so.

What CPE Vault is, and is not

CPE Vault helps you log continuing-education activities, allocate the credits to the certifications you hold, store the certificates that prove them, track cycle deadlines and export an audit pack when a certification body asks for one.

Not an official record

CPE Vault is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to ISC2, ISACA, PMI, EC-Council, CompTIA, AWS, Microsoft, Google, IRCA, PECB or any other certification body. It does not submit anything to them. Your body's own portal remains the official record, and you remain responsible for submitting your credits, paying your fees and meeting your body's requirements on time.

We make reasonable efforts to keep the cycle rules, categories and caps in the app in line with what each body publishes, but bodies change their rules and may apply them differently to you. Treat the app's calculations as a guide and check anything that matters against your body's current policy.

Your account

The Free plan works without an account. To use Pro you sign in with Google, which creates a CPE Vault account tied to that Google account. You are responsible for keeping your Google account secure and for everything that happens under your CPE Vault account. Tell us straight away at support@cpevault.app if you think it has been compromised.

One account is for one person. Do not share it, and do not create accounts for others without their permission.

Free, Pro and billing

Free

Free covers one certification, the activity log, cycle tracking, deadline reminders and evidence stored on your device. It is free for as long as we offer it.

Pro

Pro adds unlimited certifications, log-once-credit-everywhere, the encrypted vault and sync, AI certificate parsing, audit pack export and email-to-vault. Pro is sold as a subscription through Google Play at the prices shown in the app for your country. At launch these are US$19.99 per year or US$2.99 per month, and ₹499 per year in India. Prices include applicable taxes where Google Play shows them that way.

Your content

Everything you put into CPE Vault, including entries, certifications and evidence files, is yours. We claim no ownership of it. You give us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, display and transmit your content only as needed to provide the Service to you, including sending a file you submit for parsing to our AI processing partner and receiving mail sent to your vault address. The licence ends when your content is deleted.

You are responsible for your content. You confirm that you have the right to upload it and that it does not infringe anyone's rights. Do not upload content you are not entitled to keep.

Keep your own copies. The Free plan stores data only on your device, and we cannot recover it if the device is lost or the app is uninstalled. On Pro, we keep backups for disaster recovery, but you should still export an audit pack before major changes.

AI features

AI certificate parsing suggests values for hours, date and provider from a file you choose. The suggestions can be wrong, incomplete or misread, especially from poor scans. Nothing is saved until you confirm it, and you are responsible for checking every field before you do. Parsing results are not a determination of what your certification body will accept.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these rules.

Our intellectual property

The CPE Vault app, website, name, logo and all software and design behind them are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, in line with these Terms and the Google Play terms. The names and marks of certification bodies and cloud providers belong to their owners and are used only to describe which rules the app supports.

Third-party services

The app is distributed through Google Play, billing is handled by Google Play Billing, and sign-in uses Google Sign-In. Your use of those services is governed by Google's terms. We are not responsible for third-party services, and we do not control the rules, portals or decisions of any certification body.

Ending the agreement

You can stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account and the data we hold, use Settings in the app or the Delete account page. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service; in the last case we will give you at least 60 days' notice and a way to export your data. Sections that by their nature should survive, including those on content, disclaimers, liability and governing law, continue to apply after termination.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, and we do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its calculations, reminders or parsing results will be accurate or accepted by any certification body. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or a lapsed, suspended or revoked certification, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$50. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or wilful misconduct.

Changes to the service or these terms

We improve the Service over time and may add, change or remove features. If we remove a Pro feature that you rely on, you can cancel and, where the law requires, receive a pro-rata refund through Google Play. We may update these Terms; for material changes we will notify you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the new Terms.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of [JURISDICTION] have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you keep the protection of the mandatory laws and courts of the country where you live. Before starting any formal proceeding, please write to us; most problems can be fixed quickly.
